Song of the week: Your Love Never Fails-Jesus Culture
I just love that song. I'm excited to try it with the middle school band on sunday morning:)
Things on my mind:
My back hurts. I just started going to a new type of chiropractor that is called Airrosti and they do "rapid rehab." It is quite painful and lasts for about 30 minutes. I haven't done anything that intense in a while. It is one of those kinds of pain where you have to remind yourself to breath. They basically put a lot of pressure while slowly rubbing out the sore spots on your back/sore spot. Needless to say my back is sore from the procedure. I have kinese tape on my back, which is for support, and that is like a second skin, so if it gets pulled it is really painful. Needless to say, I'm excited to see if this new rehab works or not because I'm still in pain from my wreck.
God is so good to me. I've seen Him pursue me and work through me even when I sometimes purposefully cut my time with Him out of my day because I'm too busy. It seems like those days he shows up even more. Almost as if He is saying "hey look, it isn't your effort that spreads my word, it's Mine." I just love that. I had a student tell me this week that they didn't think God worked through bad times and it was a sweet reminder as I reminded them of all the good things God does through hard times. I find myself asking that question sometimes during a storm. I have to remember that, "all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." (Romans 8:28) That verse is a sweet reminder. Also Psalm 34:18 is a great verse too. "The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart,
And saves such as have a contrite spirit." I'm thankful for a new friend in my life that reminded me of that verse. At the moment I'm just very very mindful of friends that are hurting and I'm praying for them in that. It breaks my heart to see them go through hard times.
