The Greatest Friends Ever

My friends are awesome. God has blessed with so many people in my life, but my closest friends never cease to amaze me. There are times when I feel like I could kill them, but no matter what, in the end, they are always there. Something that I love about my closest friends is their ability to talk about everything with each other. When something is going wrong, it isn't ignored and shoved in a corner because no one wants to deal with it. Sometimes it's ugly and sometimes it's messy, but God's love is always there in the midst of all that. My friend Pierce and I were talking vulnerability in friendships and how life isn't about hiding behind the perceptions people make of you. It's aobut being real with people about the good, the bad, and the ugly. Vulnerability is what makes my group of friends what they are. My best friend doesn't have a problem asking me what's really going on. She doesn't have a problem asking the tough questions. Sometimes we get so mad at each other and sometimes we say the wrong thing. In the end, we are closer than we started. I love that. I love the picture of God's grace and forgiveness in friendships. With almost all of my close friends I can't think of any of them I haven't gotten into a fight with, but they love me through it all. This is a random post but I am thankful for the people God has placed in my life. They push me and encourage me to become more like God. Who else get to sit around AFTER a Bible study and talk about struggles and issues until almost midnight. I love how we relate. I love the dynamics, as unperfect as they be. Vulnerability.....what a cool yet difficult concept. To have someone see you for all you are and except you just the same is insane to me.
