So You Can Make Me Whole....

This song is brilliant and a favorite of mine by this band (though much softer than the majority of their stuff). I often find myself lost in the lyrics and today is one of those days. I found myself stuck on the line, "You call my name. I come to you in pieces so you can make me whole." I'm mindful of this as I ponder the topic of forgiveness and wonder how that happens on a practical level. I kept coming back to the idea that I can't will away my own bitterness or hatred. I have to come to Him, broken and needing Him so He can make me whole and through that process forgive. The bridge of this song is one line over and over, "I tried so hard." Trying matters very little. I can do little apart from Christ. Give it a listen and worship.
