Goodbye
Well, it's here. Freshman year is over. I am a sophomore in college. Not quite sure how I feel about that. Time flies so fast. I talked to some of my professors today and I think I landed 3 As, a B, and one really unknown grade. I think I deserve an A or high B, but who knows what the professor believes. I have no idea what I have. There were parts of the year I feared my grades would dip down and not be very good. My first test back from math I got a D on. I was determined not to fail the class. God's hand was on that class. I got to see the grade very slowly but steadily move up. Today I found my professor and asked him if I needed to finish up two assignments due after the final and he said "Oh no, they won't affect your grade. I'm pretty sure you had like a 90 on the final and landed an A in the class" I literally jumped in the air and started dancing. Right there, in the math hallway. I think I embarrassed David, who was with me. My professor just laughed and I told him I really liked his class. How awesome is that? God brought my grades up from failing to an A. Life is good. A very close friend told me that this first year of school would test me. It would change me. I shrugged it off and thought nothing of it. Boy was she ever right. God has shown me so much this semester. I always always say this, but if you had told me at graduation last year that I would be where I am now, I wouldn't have believed you. If you had said that I would be looking at staying in town another year and actually be ok with that, I wouldn't have believed you. If you had said I would have worked with 8th grade girls for an entire school year and absolutely loved it, I wouldn't have believed you. If you had said that I would lose my relationship with my best friend, I wouldn't have believed you. If you had said I was gonna sign up (voluntarily) for summer classes and look forward to them, I wouldn't have believed you. If you had said I was gonna work in a public school doing P.E. I would have been floored. This year had it's ups and downs. I am glad to see it come to an end school wise, but I actually enjoyed this year. College, I enjoy you. You give me a crazy schedule compared to high school, but I like the freedom coupled with the personal responsibility. You open my eyes to new things. You teach me more about people than I would ever learn out of a book. Most importantly you have showed me I can love what I do with my life. Thank you for that. Goodbye freshman year.....oh and the best part of all:) I didn't gain my freshman fifteen lol. (helps that I live at home still:)
