A Child's Smile

Have you ever wondered what it is about a baby's smile that makes you happy inside? I was doing that very thing today. Something about the innocence and beauty of a baby brings about joy. I've never fully grasped that, but today I enjoyed watching a beautiful baby laugh, and I could not stop smiling. Jesus talked about children in Matthew 18:4. He said, "Whosover therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven." The reason we light up when a baby smiles is because that is a glimpse of God's character. He reveals Himself to us through people and things in life. His beauty and innonce shines greatly through a child. The fact that we can get a glimpse of God in a 6 month old child baffles me and pushes me to pursue my creator. The glow on an expecting mom's face shows God's love and care for us. Rarely do you see that anywhere else in life. Next time you look into a baby's face and feel joy shooting from you, realize you are getting a glimpse of your Creator.
